Gold and Silver Overlaid Buckle This is a 3" x 2 1/4" buckle, uniquely incorporating four layers of metal. The base buckle's center is hollow. A sheet of silver is soldered from behind, creating a recessed area, to which hand-formed overlays are added - gold on top of sterling. Man in the Moon Buckle Lovely sterling buckle with a recessed interior, textured and oxidized to look like a night sky. Sterling stars were hand-cut and laid onto the base. In the center, a domed concho was cut out to show the moon, and then riveted onto the buckle. Gold stars, again on the recessed background, look as though they're reflecting the moon's mellow light.
