All pieces have one oval blue turquoise stone with dark brown matrix. The buckle is 4 1/4" x 4 3/4", and has the same oval stone in the center, and four additional stones on each outside edge. The buckle stamping matches the conchos and butterflies, and is almost certainly original to the piece. It's very heavy. 2nd Phase Navajo Concho Belt

Circa 1885-1900

Early Navajo Concho Belt that shows the early revolution form a completely hand-cut piece to one made using solder. The copper loops on the back are small, similar size to what the holes in the back would have been on a belt that was soldered. The belt is strung on a period leather strap with wide pieces of leather behind each concho. The last concho is the only one not connected to the strap and it also looks slightly different than the others. A loose concho like this was sometimes called a "gambling" concho, one the wearer could slide off and use to barter or bet! 31" long, each concho is 3 1/2" x 4 1/2" and the buckle is 3 1/4" x 2 3/4".

Price: $9,800.00
