Four Band Navajo Butterfly Cuff Circa 1940 Four banded carinated cuff bracelet, of sterling or coin silver. Navajo made, the cuff shows twisted wire between each wider band. The bands have stamp work, and over the top is mounted a small butterfly concho. A small round turquoise cabochon is at the center of the concho. Large Domed Stone Navajo Bracelet Circa 1935 Lovely three-banded cuff bracelet from the estate of Lynn Trusdell, noted Southwest jewelry collector and dealer. Coin silver with excellent stamp work on the two outside bands, flanking a central band of heavy twisted wire. Peyote Bird Pendant/Pin Circa 1940 The peyote bird is symbolic of the Native American Church movement. Most pieces found with this image were made for Native wear rather than for tourists, and they continue to be made today. The bird may derive from the early Ghost Dance bird which the Arapaho, Ute, Kiowa and Cheyenne used quite frequently. The oval conchos in this belt are beautifully simple, with hand-contouring and reverse stamped heavy rope outline. Oval stones are in smooth settings. Navajo Horseshoe Ranger Buckle
Circa 1950 Neat, primitive 4 piece buckle with square turquoise stones marking the toe and heels of the horseshoe, and mounted on the loops and tip. There's also brass (?) details for nail holes and brass floral elements applied to the buckle and tip. The maker Ike Jim, cut the letters of his name in silver wire and affixed it to the back of the buckle. Circa 1950. 2" by 2", will fit up to a 3/4" belt.

Circa: 1930 Early buckle with lovely turquoise inlay circa 1930. Cayuse has had another buckle by this maker in the past - they are distinctive in their filework around each edge. Large Concho Belt Circa 1930 The belt consists of 6 oval conchos, 7 butterfly spacers, and large rectangular buckle. Each concho is 4" x 3.5". Each butterfly is 3 1/8" x 1 1/2". All pieces have one oval blue turquoise stone with dark brown matrix. The buckle is 4 1/4" x 4 3/4", and has the same oval stone in the center, and four additional stones on each outside edge. The buckle stamping matches the conchos and butterflies, and is almost certainly original to the piece. It's very heavy. In it's present configuration, it is 37 1/2" long (removing one concho and one butterfly). The leather is recent and could be changed to make the belt shorter or longer. Price: $7,200.00 |
