N. Turk Embroidered Shirt 1935
Early wool gabardine man's shirt made by Nathan Turk. We believe this shirt to have been worn at one time by one of the Maddox Brothers - in the book "100 Years of Western Wear", Rose Maddox' famous matching outfit is pictured. The embroidery features white roses with purple accents, and green stems and leaves. There's also embroidery down the placket. Cream piping is on the sleeves, shoulders, collar and smile pockets. The snap covers look like celluloid. The shirt is in very good condition, with a few moth bites that are hard to pick out. The half-lining at the shoulders (inside) is silk, and it has separated across the neck. Size is 18 1/4" across back shoulders, 23" sleeve from outside shoulder seam, 21" across chest at underarms, and 27" from back of collar seam to tail. Price: $2,100.00 |
