Cheyenne Girl's Breast Plate Circa 1870 Cheyenne girl's breast plate circa 1870. Originally from the Yellowstone Museum, a private museum that closed in the 1970's. The family sold items in the 1990's. This one ended up in the Cameron collection, and was recently released for sale again. Crow Crupper Early and excellent Crow crupper, circa 1870. Constructed of beaded and painted rawhide, this crupper conforms to John Ewers' opinion of the earlier, less fancy cruppers which were utilitarian, rather than for parades. The bottom 25% of the piece is double sided brain-tanned leather, stuffed with hair, to provide some padding for rubbed areas on the horse. This portion is beaded, and has modest scalloped edges. Beads are larger in diameter, also a good indication of age. Cruppers very rarely come on the market, especially pre-reservation era pieces. 28" long. Price: $12,800.00 |
